State Worker Killed In A Traffic Accident In Chilton County

accident in Chilton County

An Alabama construction worker working on a highway construction zone died after getting hit in a traffic accident in Chilton County. The auto-pedestrian collision happened on Monday morning, August 30th. The crash report disclosed that failure to yield caused the accident in Chilton County.

The victim, 33-year-old Brandon F. Barber, a Prattville resident, died after a 2021 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Dylan Ryan Green, 29, of Jemison, struck him. The accident happened precisely on Alabama 191, two miles south of Jemison. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) said Green failed to yield to the traffic control sign the victim was holding within the construction zone.

Medics rushed Barber to St. Vincent’s in Clanton, where medical personnel pronounced him dead. The victim was an employee of the Alabama Department of Transportation. ALEA state troopers are continuing the investigation into the crash.

Traffic accidents are one of the leading causes of non-natural deaths in the United States. Motor vehicle accidents happen for several reasons, and they are all a result of negligence. Generally, drivers must uphold a duty of care to all road users, including fellow drivers and pedestrians. This entails driving with the utmost care and obeying all traffic rules and regulations.

A driver who breaches their duty of care, causing harm to another person, with such injury resulting in damages, would be guilty of negligence. Under Alabama law, the injured person can demand monetary compensation from the negligent driver. The compensatory sum covers medical bills, lost income, emotional injuries, and death benefits for their survivors where the person dies.

To win a compensation claim against a negligent driver, working with an experienced car accident attorney is vital. Contact us today at Mike Bell Injury Law Firm to learn how we can help you.
